Public Health Education Careers

Health educators are professionals who design, conduct and evaluate activities that help improve the health of communities.  These activities can take place in a variety of settings that include schools, universities, health care facilities, managed care, workplaces, community-based organizations & local/state/federal government agencies.  Health educators are employed under a range of job titles such as patient educators, health education teachers, trainers, community organizers and health program managers.



Public Health Education Requirements 

  • Often public health educators have a Master's in Public Health (MPH) or a Master's of Science in Public Health (MSPH).
  • Find an accredited university   
  • The Colorado School of Public Health is the first and only accredited school of public health in the Rocky Mountain West.  Accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), the Colorado School of Public Health strives to train and support the public health workforce in Colorado and regionally.
